White County News

DATE: October 2, 2014

White County Intermediate School and Mt. Yonah Elementary School celebrated World School Milk Day on Sept. 24 with lessons about the nutritional benefits of milk and why it is important to consume three servings of dairy every day. At MYES, students and staff were invited to dress like a cow, or all brown like chocolate milk, all pink like strawberry milk or all white like regular milk. Volunteers passed out stickers, pencils and milk mustaches for milk drinkers. Tables were set with milk carton centerpieces and posters were made by students to educate and inform the school about the importance of milk in a healthy diet. At White County Intermediate School, principal Shann Cash (left) and assistant principal Jennifer Glover brought attention to World School Milk Day by dressing as a dairy farmer and a cow.
